Words.
They are an excellent way to express yourself. Put together in eloquent combinations and they can express the most simple to the most complex ideas. Ideas about self. Ideas that communicate. Ideas that define. But what if like me you are not good with words? What if words don’t come easily? What if they fail to come to you when you need them most?
Making images.
Now that speaks to me. The way light falls on a face; on a surface of an object creating reflections and unexpected shadows. The way dust particles float and hang in the air like the words I couldn’t quite grasp. The way colors look deeply saturated in the afternoon or almost grey at dusk. That’s how I communicate.
Light, texture and color – these are my words.
With my camera I can show you what I see. I can show you what it feels like to be me. I can photograph myself and show you what I feel inside; how I see myself. I can photography my environment to show you what I think about it.
Every girl can make images- show the world what is inside you!
You don’t need a fancy camera. Any camera will do. If you don’t have a camera pick up a pencil or a pen and draw. Images are powerful. Create! Show the world what is inside of you!
